Food - the rejected ones

I wouldn't say Eliza's a picky eater, neither is she a great eater either. She'll eat her favorite foods but most of them aren't like staples. She'll eat her rice or noodles, veg an meats but depending on how they are cooked though.

Here is the list of foods she won't eat
- pancakes
- mashed potatoes

- breads, though anything with chocolates on the bread will get eaten
- crunchy veg like snap peas, cabbage, dou4 ya2. Though she does love the stir fried leafy veg my mil cooks,

La la lu

It's a song i heard since in was young but didn't quite remember it until recently. It's actually a song from the cartoon movie "Lady and the tramp" which i would watch over and over again on when i was a kid. Still i didn't quite remember that it was a song from that movie, maybe it didn't sound as angelic in the movie than when i heard it later on. It was also a song in the Yamaha JMC course cd that my sis had and about a yr ago i dug it out and started playing at home for Eliza cos of the nice tunes and songs like "It's a small world" etc. Somehow this particular song did get stuck in my mind when i heard it and i began singing it to Eliza. Only problem was, the only lyrics i remembered from this song was 'la la lu'.

Finally, after another request from eliza to sing this song today, i got down to find the lyrics of this song...pretty :)

I don't remember much lullabys frm my very young age...but i remember the lullaby my mum would play for my sis when she was a baby, it's those tunes that get stuck in our heads. Even my sis had fond memories of those songs. I still have the lyric book for that album but somehow can't find those beautiful songs anymore, it's a cassette tape..and i guess that tape has gotten misplaced or got moldy. Would love to find the cd version of it one day.

Good night baby eliza

Eliza dons the baby receiving blanket's hood over her head.
Eliza : mummy, say "good night baby"
Me (disgruntedly cos she always talks so much b4 she sleeps that I try not to respond too much, else she can't sleep): good night baby
E: ok thank you mummy, thank you mummy
And plops onto her bed to sleep.

Eliza: *digs her nose during bedtime* mummy, eeee pi-sai (aka nose dirt)
Me: throw it away
E: *gets up from her bed* ok, done.
I guess she must have flung it out of her bed :S

Zoo trip!

I would love to bring Eliza to the zoo again. This trip with her school was really quite fun as her friends and teachers were there.

I kinda just recovered from my 1st trimester nausea & exhaustion so i'm really thankful that I'm able to bring her there with good enough energy. Of course she was excited :)


I kinda realized after a while that she wanted to see monkeys! She was completely uninterested with the white tigers. No wonder she was doing so much monkey 'oo oo's prior to the zoo trip.


We went to watch the dog and cat show which was interesting but i would prefer the larger animal shows though. We had a photo taking session before the show with all the kids lined up..


After so many photos of her, we just gotta take one together ya


She was quite game to go stroke the dogs....while other kids went gaga over the bubbles further behind this photo. She did too...later on.



After the show was lunch and free time which she obviously took the opportunity to head off to the waters.


After drying up and changing into dry clothes we went to check out the farm animals. She was quite excited to see these kids...saying hello to them and talking to them.

I tell you this is the first time she sat on the moving car without jumping off...her friend Ariana rallied her to join in the car and i guess she also didn't want to get off. She was holding on to my hand at the steering wheel quite tightly initially.


Had a photo taking session with some of her classmates and this is the Marcus i often hear her talk about. See lah...she has to hold his hand just like how she does with her cousins. Later on i learnt from her teacher Nur that he being quite mature for his age has kinda taken care of her at school like a big brother, which i guess that's why Eliza talks about him so much.


That's her other friend Ariana i heard of before...she's quite vocal & sociable and i always hear her calling Eliza.

Trying to update

I've been so lazy updating anything. I think it's my pregnancy syndrome where all I want to do is just....nothing much. I'm also oh so lazy to go out. And with my being less active, I am quite reluctant to bring Eliza out on my own, to minimize having to carry her. She knows that when we go out, she walks. When we go out with Ww, she'll always ask him to carry her which he'll gladly oblige anyway.

Thankfully, my first trimester is over and all the nausea, extreme tiredness is more or less over. I felt so unlike myself during that period and I felt as if I was sick for weeks which isn't like me at all.

I hope to post up more things as there's also so much happening with Eliza that i just don't want to forget all these stuff that has been happening. So to more blogging days...i hope :)

Updates

I wish i can write more...there's so much to write about Eliza who has been so charming.

The 'in' thing for her to do now is make 2D houses on the floor which she'll invite us to come in. Sweet. Her passion for arranging things has developed to arranging a large shape which she calls her house.


I'm thankful for Eliza who has been relatively cooperative and for Ww who has been taking over much of the playtime with Eliza from me. They're really a lot more energetic, loud & hilarious, which i think is great for eliza from the way i see her enjoy her playtime with daddy so much.

For the past 3 weeks, i've been running on low energy because of the surprise arrival of cutie pie no.2! We've been waiting for no.2 for so long (ok a little past one year?) and when he/she arrived we were a little surprised but delighted. No.2 is God's gift in God's own time. I wondered if we were foolish to still try for a baby so close to next year's changes but if God gives, He will, if not He won't. It's a little complicated because of the many changes next year but if it all goes well, no.2 will be born in Canberra. If all goes to plan, it may not all be that bad...i can't imagine going through my first tri all alone with Eliza & Ww, if we had conceived one there...and i kinda didn't want to wait till Eliza was 7 yrs old to have my next one. Maybe 2 kids is all we'll have..just nice. hmm?

It's a little crazy because this time round, i feel a lot more exhausted, more throwing up, more lethargy than i remember during my first trimester with Eliza. I'm asleep by 10pm which means i haven't been doing my usual online stuff for weeks. I can't seem to eat fruits/milk and all the healthy stuff, but i'm eating all the really sweet/salty/oily stuff. There're days i wish i could lie in bed all day. So i'm just praying this hormone thing stabilizes and i can be back to normal....somehow.
